Students Helping Students Succeed
"Link Crew is a high school transition program that welcomes freshmen and makes them feel comfortable throughout the first year of their high school experience. Built on the belief that students can help students succeed, Link Crew trains members of the junior and senior classes to be Link Leaders. As positive role models, Link Leaders are motivators, leaders and teachers who guide the freshmen to discover what it takes to be successful during the transition to high school and help facilitate freshman success." Ballard's Link Crew program started with the Class of 2010. Every 9th grader is put into groups of up to ten and they are assigned two successful upperclassmen who get trained during the Summer to lead an exciting and meaningful Orientation program in the end of August. This Orientation establishes connections within the Crew that lead to valuable interactions throughout the Freshmen year. It is very important that all 9th graders attend Orientation to get off to a good start.
For 9th Graders:
September 3, 2009 from 8 - noon - Make plans to attend this VERY important Orientation where you will meet your Link Crew Leaders for the 2009-10 school year.
