About Us

The Music Program and Its Directors

Ballard High School in Seattle, Washington, conducts a range of excellent music programs and activities benefitting students, families, and the community. Some consider the BHS Music program the most complete high school music program in the region. Find out more about BHS Music and see how you can get involved!

The Students

Over 200 students are involved in various music groups and classes. Beginning in 2002-2003, several new musical groups were formed, and students now have a very wide range of program choices. The Music program, as a whole, makes every effort to be inclusive and to enable all students who might be interested to get involved and succeed at their personal goals while learning to be a great team member.

Parents and Friends

The BHS Music program has a long and storied history dating back to the early days of the school. With wonderful support from the BHS Foundation, community members, businesses, and most of all -- the parents, the Music program has developed a solid base of volunteer support. And the involvement is growing. For major events like the Spaghetti Dinner, several hundred people flock to hear the student (instrumental and choral) musicians while raising funds to support the program at the same time. This year, orchestra members went to the Heritage Festival San Francisco over Spring Break, where they won First Place in the competition.

BHS Music Boosters Mission Statement
The mission of the Music Boosters is to encourage and help support the maintenance, further development, and growth of all aspects of the Ballard High School Music Program through financial and volunteer assistance, in order to achieve the best music education experience for all students participating in the program.
